Your Candle is Love–A Women’s Advent Program with Heartland Harmony

REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL. PLEASE CONTACT JIM EARLES AT 563.582.3592 TO BE ADDED TO OUR WAITING LIST.

Monday, December 9, 6:00 - 8:30 pm
Shalom Spirituality Center

Come, enjoy a scrumptious meal together, be inspired by the gift of song, and give a gift to other women.

The women’s choir, Heartland Harmony, will lead us in inspirational word and song through the main themes of Advent. The choir’s mission is women supporting and empowering women while creating beautiful harmony. Their performances support community organizations who minister to women in need.

For this program, they have selected Dubuque Y Crisis Services, who provide temporary emergency shelter & supportive services to victimized women and their families. You are invited, in the spirit of the season, to give a monetary donation or needed items for The Dubuque Y Crisis Services collected the night of the performance.
Their needs this December include: pillows, shampoo/conditioner, size 5/6 diapers, coffee, sugar, flavored syrups for coffee, and women’s underwear in sizes small through large.

Come discover your candle of love and pass it on!

$25 per person; register and prepay online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 no later than Monday, December 2. Please indicate who will be in your group to facilitate table assignments, which will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Since Shalom does not employ a dietician, and to best serve your dietary needs, please inform us of any diagnosed food allergies, including wheat and dairy (NOT food preferences), seven days in advance. If you have specific dietary needs, please contact Margie Gassman at 563-582-3592.

To accommodate vegetarian diets, fruits and vegetables are served with every meal. Food desired beyond a typical omnivore diet is the guest’s responsibility (including but not limited to gluten-free, pescatarian, vegan, or low-glycemic). Requests for diet preferences or changes made to the kitchen staff at the time of serving will not be honored unless arrangements have been made ahead of time.
