Yoga & Christianity
Thursday, November 10, 6-7:30 pm
In-person, Shalom Spirituality Center
Facilitator: Jim Earles
While yoga started out as an obscure practice, thousands of years ago in India, it is now a worldwide phenomenon. But how did yoga practice find its way from India to right here at Shalom in Dubuque, Iowa? That is a fascinating story! Intertwined in that story is a long and complicated relationship with Christianity, which in some ways goes all the way back to the time of Christ and the Apostles. Learning about that history is a wonderful way to better appreciate both your faith and your yoga practice! Please join local yoga teacher and presenter, Jim Earles, for a sweeping historical presentation, filled with fun and interesting facts. Please note that there is no physical yoga practice planned for this class, and you don't even have to be a yoga practitioner to join in. The class will be in a discussion-only format, with lots of opportunities for questions and sharing. Any questions about the content or format of the class? Contact Jim at firstname.lastname@example.org.
