What It Means to Be “Iowa Nice” with Angela Boelens

Thursday, February 8, 3:00-4:00 pm
Shalom Chapel and via Zoom

On February 24, 2022, the world awakened to Russian troops invading Ukraine. Angela Boelens was awakened to action. Angela became the founder and president of IA NICE (Iowa Newcomer Integration Community & Exchange), a non-profit agency supporting Ukrainian refugee families seeking humanitarian parole with resettlement and integration into local Iowa communities. IA NICE, a 501c3, also provides guidance and necessary resources to community members and sponsors as they support newcomer families in rebuilding their lives in Iowa. Angela lives in DeWitt, Iowa, and is a professor in the business administration department at Augustana College.

There is no cost to attend, but free-will offerings will be accepted and donated to IA NICE. If you plan to attend or would like to request the Zoom link, please register online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by Wednesday, February 7.
