Hybrid ~ In-person at Shalom Spirituality Center or Virtual via Zoom
Three elements are important on the Lenten journey: Penance (physical challenges), Reflection (encountering God through others and the beauty of nature), and Renewal (spiritual growth, hope, and healing). These same elements are mirrored on the Camino Santiago de Compostela, an ancient pilgrimage that begins in eastern Spain and winds its way to the Tomb of St. James. Listen to the spiritual journey of a pilgrim who recently completed the Camino and how his journey helps us to encounter Lent in a new and vibrant way.
Bro. Brian McLauchlin, SVD, teaches Anthropology and Trauma and Healing at Divine Word College in Epworth, IA. He is a vowed member of the Society of the Divine Word, a missionary community of about 6,000 Priests and Brothers around the world. Bro. Brian took a sabbatical on the Camino this past September and October. His journey was one of hope and healing, and he will share that journey with you.
A free-will donation is appreciated. Walk-ins are welcome for in-person attendance, but RSVPs are encouraged. For Zoom viewing, an RSVP is required. Please RSVP online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by noon on Tuesday, March 17.
