Wednesday, December 4, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Hybrid - Shalom Spirituality Center and via Zoom
Join us for a very special movie night! We will enjoy this 2020 Timeline – World History Documentary, telling the true story of the spontaneous Christmas truce which took place during WWI, 110 years ago this very Christmas. Far from being just a quaint fact in some dusty history book, the Christmas Truce of 1914 still offers us hope today! If enemy forces locked in a terrible war can find peace through the shared celebration of Christmas, then it is a reminder to all of us that peace can manifest through any adversity.
Enjoy popcorn while watching the 50-minute documentary, and then we will discuss its various themes and maybe sing some Christmas carols!
No cost to attend, but free-will donations accepted; RSVP attendance online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by Tuesday, December 3. No virtual registrations after the deadline, but unregistered walk-ins are welcome.
