Sunday, June 18 thru Friday, June 23
Shalom Spirituality Center, Dubuque, Iowa
Facilitator: Pat Doody, OSF
How do I recognize God in my life? What brings me peace? How do I respond to the suffering in the world? Francis of Assisi walked a winding yet focused path during a troubled time in history filled with suffering, war, violence, economic uncertainty, and a struggling Church. Amid those tumultuous times, he embarked on a journey that transformed his own life and the world around him. With an unwavering commitment to the gospel and a profound awareness of God’s overflowing goodness reflected in all creation, Francis’ way of life led to faithfulness that continues to inspire more than 800 years later. During this week, we will journey with Francis and his early followers, including Clare and Bonaventure. Our prayer and reflection will offer a means of refreshing our relationship with God as we strive to live faithfully in our own uncertain and often volatile times.
