Praying with Saint Clare: with Sr. Joan Mueller, OSC

Tuesday, April 1, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Shalom Spirituality Center
Facilitated by Joan Mueller, OSC

Often when we reflect on the prayer of Saint Clare, we rely on the words she used to teach Agnes of Prague, a beginner in the Franciscan life. In this workshop, participants will reflect on the prayer of Saint Clare herself as it was witnessed by the sisters at San Damiano who knew her, loved her, and lived in community with her. During Clare’s Process of Canonization, the sisters at San Damiano were required to testify under oath concerning Clare’s life with them. One of the questions they all had to answer regarded her life of prayer.

During this workshop, participants will look at the testimonies of the sisters who knew Clare best in order to learn from these witnesses about Clare’s prayer. Discussion will focus on how we might apply these learnings to our own prayer.

Sr. Joan Mueller is a Poor Clare sister and Clare scholar.
