Prayerful Walk for Peace
Tuesday, September 19, 7:00 - 8:00 pm
Facilitator: Ginny Heldorfer, OSF
While sometimes misunderstood as a modern fad, labyrinths have been respected in the Christian tradition since at least the Middle Ages. Walking in a labyrinth provides a tangible, physical symbol for the journey toward closeness with God. In times past, people would even move through an entire labyrinth on their knees as an act of repentance! While labyrinths may have various geometric designs and be utilized for various purposes, they always confer a sense of peace upon the one who walks them with quiet reverence. As an act of peace, during this month, when we observe the United Nations International Day of Peace (Sept. 21), we invite you to walk Shalom's labyrinth.
This is a silent, prayerful practice suitable for older teens and adults. Socks are required. Limited to 10 participants. Freewill offering; RSVP on or by Monday, September 18.
