Saul / Paul of Tarsus is one of the most important figures in the early Church and his influence has remained strong for 2000 years. And yet, many people don’t know much about his life and ministry. Who is the Apostle Paul? What do we know about his life and those books of the Bible which are attributed to him?
Paul was born with dual status as both a Jew and a Roman citizen, a rare combination indicating status and money. He was educated by some of the best teachers of his time. He had a powerful zeal for his Jewish faith, but then turned that zeal into a decades-long mission to the Gentiles after the Lord Jesus appeared to him. Come get to know St. Paul a little better, so that the spirit of his words may enrich your faith!
Fr. Richard Ament is a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Dubuque, having served just under 59 years. His interest in St. Paul was stimulated during his years as a pastor. That interest led to much study and prayer. He hopes to pass on a bit of his love for St. Paul through this brief presentation.
Free-will donation; please RSVP online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by noon on Friday, April 11, for either presentation. PLEASE NOTE: Both days will feature the same presentation, which is being offered twice to accommodate different schedules.
