Four Essential B's: How Beliefs Affect Our Bodies, Brains, and Bonds
Friday, July 21 - Sunday, July 23, at Shalom Spirituality Center
Facilitated by Anne Kertz Kernion
If you are interested in the intersection of spiritual practices and our health and well-being, this retreat is for you! During our weekend together, we will explore several areas of that intersection with multimedia presentations. First, how do our beliefs and practices affect our bodies, down to the cellular level? And second, how do our attitudes and beliefs, prayers, and participation in rituals, affect our cognitive health and relationships with others?
We will experience Chair Yoga and several forms of silent prayer and meditation. We'll also create bookmarks with your name on them (Calligraphy by Anne) and have ample time for group discussions and contemplative practices. You will leave with various tools to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.
$300 per person (includes program, overnight accommodations, and meals) or $250 per person for commuters (includes a comfortable space to rest and relax during your visit, program, and meals; no overnight accommodations); please register online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by July 14, 2023.
Since Shalom does not employ a dietician, and to best serve your dietary needs, please inform us of any diagnosed food allergies, including wheat & dairy (NOT food preferences), seven days in advance. If you have specific dietary needs, please contact Margie Gassman at 563-582-3592. In order to accommodate vegetarian & vegan diets, fruits & vegetables are served with every meal. Any food desired beyond a typical omnivore diet is the individual's responsibility.
