“The blessed light of the Divinity will illumine the heart only when the heart is completely empty of everything.” ~ St. Hesychios

The Valley of Dry Bones is certainly a place of emptying and then filling. It is an experience as old as Ezechiel and as present as our current reality. In this retreat, participants will explore both scriptural wisdom and the practice of mantra meditation. In other words, both biblical exploration and the experience of contemplation will be the means through which participants will retreat from everyday activity and hopefully find the blessed light of Divinity.

Nancy Schreck, a Sister of St. Francis of Dubuque, IA, is currently the Program Director of Excel Inc., a community service organization located in Okolona, MS. Nancy has previously served in Leadership and Formation ministry in her Congregation, as well as in the LCWR Presidency and as a US Delegate to the International Union of Superiors. In addition to leadership in her congregation, Nancy has served eight years as a member of the Council of the Franciscan Handmaids in New York. Working nationally and internationally, Nancy speaks and facilitates for various religious groups.
