Wish List:

22" - 32" HD LED TV to place in the Francis Room

40" - 50"LED TV for use in the library

• Window replacements: approximately $900 each. Note: Shalom has a total of 246 very large windows which were installed between 1881-1884. We are in the process of replacing these windows which are deteriorating and not energy efficient. Thus far we have replaced 66 percent of these windows.

We are truly grateful to all our benefactors for their generous gifts of time, skills and resources.
We gratefully acknowledge the following grants to assist with our spiritual ministry.


Thanks to a $1,500 grant from the Loras College Archbishop Kucera Center for Catholic Intellectual and Spiritual Life, Shalom was able to purchase a 55" Smart TV and mounting bracket. This new TV was placed in conference room 203 and is ideal for showing DVDs and powerpoint presentations to groups of 20 or less. Special thanks to Jim Hauber, Great Sounds Audio, for the package deal on the Smart TV and for donating the blu ray / dvd player.


Thank you! A $1,000 grant award from the Starbuck & Stolteben Foundation in 2014 went toward the appeal for funds to add zoned central air conditioning.


Thanks to all who supported the Birdies for Charity John Deere Classic. Thanks to our supporters and the bonus $ given by Birdies for Charity, $6,756.20 was raised to purchase and install replacement windows at our Center.


Special thank to the Sertoma Club of Dubuque for the grant award of $289.90 to purchase two assistive hearing devices.


Thanks to a $725 grant from Dupaco Community Credit Union's R.W. Hoefer Foundation, Shalom was able to upgrade to a new laptop computer with Windows 8.1 operating system. This new computer works well with the Smart TV for powerpoint presentations.


Thanks to generous gifts from American Trust ($1,000), Dupaco Community Credit Union ($300), AY McDonald Manufacturing Charitable Foundation ($250) and many other benefactors, Shalom was able to install an ADA accessible main entrance door system in late December 2013/early .


Special thanks to the Franciscan Charism Team for donating a large projector screen. This screen was attached to the wall in conference room #203 and has improved the viewing experience for both guests and presenters using powerpoint, showing DVDs, etc.
